    • Encourage private enterprise in diverse ways

    • Strengthen resident participation through regular community meetings throughout the four-year term

    • Continue digital transformation and seize opportunities in artificial intelligence

    • Maintain an updated website for the municipality and active social media platforms.

  • We want a community where maintenance and environmental matters are exemplary, with a focus on environmentally friendly solutions.

    Therefore, we will:

    • Improve accessibility on walking paths for strollers, wheelchairs, and e-scooters

    • Greatly increase efforts in maintenance and environmental initiatives in the municipality

    • Further strengthen recycling efforts, leading to lower fees for residents and businesses

    • Increase funding for the development of green spaces

    • Improve facilities at dog parks and create a new area for small dogs

  • We want a community with strong infrastructure, diverse land options for housing and business, and a clear long-term vision in planning.

    Therefore, we will:

    • Ensure infrastructure development keeps pace with housing and commercial development

    • Plan diverse housing options for elderly residents

    • Make Árborg a leader in the development of detached, semi-detached, and terraced housing

    • Increase the availability of plots in Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri

    • Complete the development of Sigtúnsgarður in Selfoss

    • Open a new cemetery

    • Develop a clear policy on heavy transport within municipal boundaries

    • Ensure continued availability of commercial plots

    • Increasingly move to using clean energy vehicles for municipality staff

    • Offer plots for aircraft hangars at Selfoss Airport

    • Ensure safe riding trails in cooperation with Sleipnir riding club

    • Develop a new campsite connected to Hellisskógur in Selfoss

    • Increase capacity and plan future facilities for day-care centers Árblik and Vinaminni

    • Explore more independently operated preschools and primary schools

    • Further improve working conditions in preschools and primary schools for students and staff

    • Support the autonomy of each school

    • Continue implementing the “Prosperity of Children – 8 Pillars of Youth” initiative and strengthen professional collaboration

    • Strengthen the higher education environment locally and opportunities for youth to study in their home area

    • Renovate schoolyards at primary schools

    • Present a clear long-term vision for school facilities at Eyrarbakki

  • We want a community where all residents can participate in sports and leisure activities,

    whether competitively or recreationally. The preventive value of such activities is invaluable.

    Therefore, we will:

    • Increase leisure grants to ISK 70,000 for children aged 6–18 and ISK 35,000 for children aged 0–5

    • Open a new area for the Fossbúar Scout Group opposite Sunnulækjarskóli

    • Further support preventive initiatives, including mobile youth centers and mental health programs

    • Open youth centers in every primary school

    • Open a new sports facility for gymnastics, handball, and other activities at Stekkjaskóli

    • Continue developing a clear long-term plan for sports and leisure facilities in cooperation with organizations

    • Continue offering liaison advisors through the “Good to Grow Old” project
